I grew up in the Rust Belt of Michigan. Local news offered few perspectives held outside the farm fields of my hometown. Eventually, I craved increasingly diverse narratives and found them in traditional outlets like 60 Minutes and The Wall Street Journal to budding platforms like Twitter and Facebook. More information piqued my curiosity — leading me down a path of storytelling and truth-seeking.

In my career, I want to provide my childhood experience to others by sharing narratives that open peoples’ eyes to the world and lead them to more empathy. I work toward these goals as a Producer at Mo News, and previously as a 4th grade teacher in Washington, DC and an intern at WUOM.

I live in New York City with my partner and our dog, Wallace.
